International #SoapWeek: Celebrating the world of soaps, one day at a time!
From Weatherfield to Walford, Ramsay Street to the Dales, Summer Bay to Ambridge – all your favourite soaps in one week-long celebration. International #SoapWeek is all about honouring iconic stories, unforgettable characters, and the fans who love them!
Our Impact
Soap fans turned out in full force for Soap Week 2025, and the results speak for themselves. We created Soap Week as the co-hosts of the Conversation Street podcast to bring fans together in celebration of the shows we all love. Each day featured a different theme, sparking creativity, nostalgia, and lively conversation across social media.
Between July 7th and 13th, the hashtag #soapweek racked up an incredible 5.6 million views across platforms, with over 25,000 likes and plenty of love from some of our favourite soap stars. The momentum kept going, too - #soapweek was trending throughout the week and saw another surge on Sunday, July 20th, with more than 39,000 interactions in a single day.
We were thrilled to be joined by a host of soap favourites, including Sally Carman-Duttine, Todd Boyce, Samia Longchambon, Georgia Taylor, Claire Sweeney, Vinta Morgan, and Hayley Tamaddon, who all took part by sharing stories and memories from their careers. We also had the pleasure of interviewing Mickey Jones, whose work as an actor and director spans Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Brookside.
One of the week’s standout moments was the Soap Week Walk, a special fundraiser that took us from Coronation Street’s original Quay Street set to its current home in Media City. A team of 17 fantastic participants raised £1,559.59 (plus £286.75 in Gift Aid) for Dementia UK - a cause we chose in recognition of Debbie Webster’s ongoing vascular dementia storyline on Corrie. As a surprise for the walkers, Sue Devaney, who plays Debbie, sent over a heartfelt video message of support. And to top it all off, Georgia Taylor (Toyah Habeeb) was there at the finish line to greet the group - creating a lovely moment fans will never forget. The walk was led by the brilliant team behind Corriepedia, who guided us past classic filming locations and even the site that first inspired the show.
To round off the week, we hosted a Super Soap Sunday Quiz on YouTube - an epic 11-round challenge that tested fans on their knowledge of Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Neighbours, Home and Away, and more. It was the perfect finale to a week celebrating soaps both past and present.
Soap Week is proudly run by fans, for fans - and the response this year has been overwhelming. Whether you tweeted, watched, walked, donated, or played along, thank you. We’re so proud of what this community has achieved together.
A huge thank you to our friends at Corriepedia, Albert Square: After Dark, The Talk of the Street, Swarlanation Street, Dingle All The Way, Stateside Street, Coronation Street Blog, Coastal News: A Home and Away Podcast, Melissa @LanaKlaineSWEN, Inger, and The Crossroads Fan Club for their support - and an extra special shout-out to Ally from Swarlanation Street for helping to put together the Super Soap Sunday Quiz.

Show the power of soap… and soap fans! *
We’re encouraging soap fans to use International Soap Week as a chance to raise money for causes they care about. It’s a powerful way to show just how passionate and impactful the soap community can be — inspired by the stories, characters, and moments that move us on screen every day.
Use the hashtag #SoapWeekCharity so we can follow your journey, share your story, donate, and cheer you on. Together, we’ll show that soap fans aren’t just great at remembering plot twists — we’re great at making a difference too. Let’s turn our passion into positive change, one soap at a time.
To take part, choose a charity linked to a storyline that resonated with you — whether it’s mental health, domestic abuse, homelessness, or another real-world issue. Then pick a fundraising idea: maybe a watchathon, sponsored walk, bake sale, or something wonderfully weird. However you do it, make it your own.
About Conversation Street and International Soap Week
International Soap Week is a week-long celebration of the soap operas that have shaped our lives, our culture, and our living rooms for generations. Running from 7–13 July, the week invites fans from around the world to come together and honour everything we love about soaps — the iconic characters, unforgettable storylines, dramatic showdowns, and moments of unexpected joy.
From Coronation Street and EastEnders to Neighbours, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, and more, International Soap Week shines a light on the shows that have kept us hooked — whether for five years or fifty. Each day brings a new theme and fun fan activities, including creative challenges, nostalgic throwbacks, themed cooking, polls, quizzes, and opportunities to share your own soap stories.
This special celebration is hosted by Conversation Street, a long-running podcast devoted to Coronation Street. Since 2012, Conversation Street has offered weekly episode discussions, cast interviews, and behind-the-scenes insights into the UK's most iconic soap. Created by passionate fans for fans, the podcast aims to entertain, inform, and foster a warm and welcoming Corrie-loving community.
International Soap Week also pays tribute to the legacy of Coronation Street creator Tony Warren, with 8 July – his birthday – recognised as Tony Warren Day. It’s a chance to reflect on how one man’s vision helped redefine British television, telling real stories about real people with heart, humour, and grit.
Whether you're a lifelong viewer or a new fan, we invite you to join us for a week of soap-loving fun. Share your favourites, discover hidden gems, and celebrate the genre that’s always been there for us — one dramatic moment at a time.
A Special Thanks…
